Description
This training will provide you with an introduction on how to use the NEAT+ tool to screen your projects for environmental risks. You will learn how to analyse and use the results produced by the NEAT+ tool, and how to develop an action plan for your project based on these results.
Training content:
- Overview of the NEAT+ tool and its relevance
- Demonstration of the use of the NEAT+ Rural tools and introduction to the NEAT+ Urban tool
- How to use the NEAT+ tool within your organisation
- Practical exercises with a case study

By the end of this training course, learners will (be able to):
- Explain why the NEAT+ tool is relevant for environmental screening of your programme
- Explain how NEAT+ tool can be used (when, how, and who should use it)
- Describe how to analyse the results of NEAT+ environmental screening and prioritise relevant mitigation measures for your project

Prérequis
- Have at least two years' professional experience in the humanitarian or development sector
- Have a good understanding of the project cycle
- Have a basic understanding of the interactions between the environment and humanitarian action
- Have good working knowledge of the English language (written and spoken)

The course is delivered entirely online via a dedicated learning platform. It includes a variety of learning approaches to support learner engagement and understanding.

- Practical work and case studies: Exercises allowing learners to put theory into practice.

Moyens et supports pédagogiques
This training course is built upon a logical sequence of modules. Each module provides theoretical aspects and concepts, which are then put into practice by learners via the use of concrete examples (practical exercises, case studies, scenarios, etc.). Various documents and teaching materials are provided to learners as the training progresses.
Our subject matter experts are all recognised trainers with solid professional experience in the various topics covered during the training. They have participated in training for trainers and adult learning courses.
The pedagogical approach of the training is designed specifically for the humanitarian working environment. The content is broken down into short, accessible learning objects to help learners engage with the training for the duration of the course, despite the time constraints that emergency practitioners face.
